Chapters 71 to 74, and the second place where the anime and the books fall out of step. Season 3 part 1 ends inside chapter 72, the second chapter here, and part 2 opens at chapter 73, the third. A viewer who stopped between the two halves of season 3 therefore starts two chapters into this book. It is also the first volume of Box Set 5, the Season 3 Part 2 set, whose own page never says what is in it: the price is $54.95, which is five single volumes, and it takes a Kodansha holiday gift guide to say they are Vols. 18 to 22. Omnibus 6 ends here with Vols. 16 to 18.
Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.
The campaign to retake Wall Maria starts in the second half of this volume and runs unbroken to Vol. 22. Isayama front-loads it with the Shadis conversation, a quiet chapter about the man who trained the cast and knew Eren's father. The box-set labeling is worth checking before buying. Kodansha's product pages name the volumes in Box Sets 2, 3, 4 and 7 and in none of the others; its 2020 holiday gift guide adds that Box Set 1 is Vols. 1 to 4 and Box Set 5 is Vols. 18 to 22. This is where the pages that say nothing begin. The Japanese volume shipped on 9 December 2015.
