Chapters 27 to 30, and the volume most likely to be bought by mistake. Three different English books are called Attack on Titan volume 7: this one, Colossal Edition 7, which collects Vols. 31 to 34 and is the last book in the story, and Before the Fall 7, which is a different series by a different artist. Check the edition on the spine before paying. What is actually in this one is the back half of the Female Titan arc: the trap set in Vol. 6 fails, and the expedition's cost is charged here rather than deferred. Season 1 covers chapters 1 to 34, so the anime has been through it. Omnibus 3 begins here with Vols. 7 to 9.

The squad wipe is the series establishing what it costs to be competent. Gunther, Eld, Oluo and Petra are given exactly enough characterization across Vols. 5 to 7 to make their deaths register, and they are killed offscreen in the time it takes Eren to decide whether to transform. The decision itself is the volume's argument: Eren weighs trusting his squad against trusting himself, chooses his squad, and is wrong. Colossal Edition 7 carries chapters 123 to 139 and costs $44.99 against the $43.96 that the same four volumes cost as singles, so the oversized book is a dollar and three cents more, not a saving.
