The Count's household becomes another front in Guts's confrontation in Berserk Volume 2. The publisher describes an assault on the castle and a captive daughter whose life offers a different view of its ruler. This is an installment in an existing confrontation, not a fresh mercenary adventure. Standard Volumes 1 through 3 are also collected together in Deluxe 1, which keeps this early conflict in one physical book.

The Count's daughter gives the castle a purpose beyond housing an opponent. PRH describes her confinement and Puck being handed to her as a gift, which makes the ruler's control domestic as well as military. Guts attacks from outside while Puck encounters that household from within. This is not the reason to buy the run by itself: the larger confrontation already began, and the publisher advertises another exchange of monstrous force rather than an independent destination. Its distinction is the contrast between destroying a tyrant's defenses and seeing whom those defenses also imprison.
