Skellig and Falconia give the travelers and Rickert separate destinations in Berserk Volume 38. The publisher gives the two destinations different promises: possible help for Casca and the visible seat of Griffith's power. This paperback belongs to Deluxe 13, together with standard Volumes 37 and 39. It is not the same numbered installment as a Deluxe volume, and arrival at either destination should not be mistaken for a resolved predicament.

A destination can disclose what a journey was really asking for. PRH describes the search for elven help alongside Rickert's approach to Falconia, whose imposing appearance coexists with concealed demonic forces. One arrival is organized around a person's need; the other encounters the institutions built around Griffith's power. The comparison does not require declaring the two places equivalent. It makes their promises worth examining separately. Reaching a place establishes proximity to what was sought, not knowledge of its costs, limits or terms. The fact of arrival cannot certify the promise attached to it.
