Schierke and Farnese continue through the dangers inside Casca's dreams in Berserk Volume 40. The publisher treats those dangers as physically consequential for the visitors, not as harmless images. This standard paperback is collected in Deluxe 14 alongside Volume 41 and the Official Guidebook. Unlike the earlier three-volume collections, that hardcover includes only two numbered manga volumes, so it does not also contain standard Volume 42.

An internal setting does not make the helpers invulnerable observers. PRH emphasizes that the dangers encountered by Schierke and Farnese are lethal to people entering from the material world. That premise gives the attempt to help a concrete exposure without turning Casca's suffering into a spectacle safely viewed from outside. The two visitors must act within conditions they did not create and cannot dismiss as unreal. This is the continuation of an existing intervention, not proof that understanding another person's pain automatically supplies the means to end it. Access brings obligations and risks of its own.
