Berserk Volume 41 is Kentaro Miura's final volume, with Casca's recovery still complicated by reminders of her trauma. The publisher distinguishes that authorship endpoint from completion of the story. This paperback is included in Deluxe 14 together with standard Volume 40 and the Official Guidebook. The guidebook takes the place of a third numbered manga volume in that collection; standard Volume 42 is the subsequent continuation, not part of this hardcover.

The publisher's description gives recovery a limit that a simple rescue ending would erase: Casca is no longer confined within her mind, yet Guts can trigger memories of what happened. His role in seeking help does not automatically make his presence comforting. That is a specific obstacle to treating reunion as the measure of success. The volume is also Miura's final one, but the publisher explicitly calls the larger work unfinished. Those are different kinds of ending. A creator's last contribution does not turn an unresolved situation into a narrative resolution.
