Fairy Tail Volume 6 opens with Gray wounded during his confrontation with Lyon on Galuna Island. The inspected contents list chapters 40 to 48. This continues the island mission from the preceding standard book, so its opening assumes the conflict is already underway. Box Set 1 and Master's Edition 2 include this book's story coverage. Choose the single for a standard-paperback collection; either larger purchase already overlaps these chapters rather than starting a different adventure.

Lyon tries to strip the ice of its personal meaning by dismissing Gray's belief that Ur remains alive. Gray's return to the fight shows that knowing his teacher is gone has not ended his attachment to what she did. His resistance is neither an untouched student's confidence nor a completed victory: he is visibly injured and trying to prevent the revival ritual. Meanwhile, Natsu discovers that the masked opponent can restore broken surroundings, so even a damaged room is not a stable advantage. Gray's confidence in Natsu and Lyon's account of the ceremony compete, but neither statement establishes the mission's result. This reading covers only printed pages 3 to 18 of the licensed Kodansha preview through Penguin Random House, ending before the island conflict is resolved.
