Fairy Tail's seventh book opens in the fighting between the rival guilds. The contents list chapters 49 to 56, with the opening already dividing combat across members and floors of the building. This note inspects only printed pages 3 to 18 in Kodansha's licensed preview. It does not establish the guild war's result or describe the later Lucy chapter from its title alone. Standard Vol. 7 belongs to the existing first box set; that overlap supplies a buying alternative, not another episode.

Gajeel strikes his own side while inviting the opposing guild to attack him together. His display treats allies as expendable evidence of strength. Elfman's repeated claims about being a man look thin beside that behavior, but he is at least trying to stand between an opponent and his guildmates. Natsu's interruption shifts the exchange from that verbal test of manhood to responsibility for the earlier attack on Levy and the guild. The opening then undermines confidence built around Makarov: Jose avoids the proposed direct fight through a projection, and Lucy is shown unconscious at the preview's end. Erza's assurance that they cannot lose with their master present is hers, not an inspected victory. Protecting a guild requires more than winning the duel its leader wants.
