Fullmetal Alchemist Volume 7 opens with Izumi asking a doctor about lost memories before Edward remembers his overdue State Alchemist assessment. This reading uses the licensed Yen digital edition's BookWalker preview, whose contents begin with To Meet the Master. It does not certify the VIZ paperback's chapter range, wording or pagination. The excerpt moves from a household departure to Scar's conversation with his teacher. Continue the sequence for those established relationships; the analysis does not cover the later encounters named in the contents.

Edward's official status comes with an assessment he has forgotten, and losing the license frightens him into leaving quickly. That departure is practical urgency, while Alphonse stays behind as Armstrong insists that they spar. The cut to Scar gives institutional membership a more troubling meaning: his teacher recognizes that State Alchemists helped destroy their villages, yet refuses to let that history settle the moral status of revenge. Acknowledging the cause of hatred and questioning the response occur in the same conversation. The warning does not absolve the military, establish forgiveness or show Scar accepting it. The excerpt therefore holds two pressures on the role of State Alchemist together: administrative obligation and responsibility for violence. This reading covers only printed pages 7 to 17 of the licensed digital preview, ending during the teacher's warning.
