My Hero Academia 8 opens during the practical exams, with student pairs facing their teachers. Chapters 63–71 begin with Midoriya and Bakugo trying to agree on how to face All Might, then turn to Todoroki and Yaoyorozu against Aizawa. This is continued school assessment rather than a fresh introduction to the cast. The licensed opening supplies the argument here; neither exam's result nor the later training camp is included in the reading.

All Might sees a compromise between running and fighting as a first step toward cooperation. He also hurts himself applying the pressure meant to produce it. The teacher's method has a cost, even before the opening switches to a pair whose apparent agreement is less useful. Yaoyorozu praises Todoroki's quick planning and discounts her own practical record; he treats her small creations as a detail within his escape plan. Aizawa captures him and suggests he should have heard what she wanted to say. Yaoyorozu then runs through so many doubts that she loses track of her route, until her opponent catches her too. Agreement without an invitation to contribute has narrowed their options. The inspected pages establish the failure in their communication, without yet showing whether they repair it.
