Chapters 482 to 491, and a season boundary that falls two chapters from the back cover. Season 10 of the anime ends at chapter 489, the eighth of these ten, and season 11 opens at chapter 490, which supplies the volume title. A viewer who finished Thriller Bark on screen has therefore seen everything here except the last two chapters, and those two are the opening of the next arc: buying the book for them is a thin trade, and skipping to Vol. 51 loses them outright. There is no comfortable answer to that one. The fight the previous volume left running is settled inside this one. 208 pages, $11.99 at list.
Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.
Moria is beaten by his own method. He has taken every shadow on Thriller Bark and cannot hold them, so each hit Luffy lands shakes some loose, and dropping the island on him returns the rest to the people they were cut from. The threat ends with the sunrise it was racing. Then Bartholomew Kuma arrives, sent for Luffy's head, and goes through a crew that has nothing left. He is talked out of the kill by Zoro, in the stretch chapter 485 titles 'Straw Hat Pirates—Pirate Hunter Zoro'. Chapter 489, 'Eighth Person', is Brook joining, which is what five volumes of errand were for. One spelling note for anyone reading the page and then the book: Viz's licensed English manga prints the swordsman as 'Zolo', and this site's fact-check zoro-zolo-renamed records why.
