YuYu Hakusho standard paperback 3 contains chapters 18 to 26 and opens after Yusuke’s return to life. Schoolyard violence immediately tests what that return has changed. The scene assumes the resurrection story in the preceding books, so this is a continuation rather than a fresh starting point. The checked English catalog contains VIZ’s nineteen standard paperbacks, with no verified collected alternative listed. The analysis below follows the opening encounter, without treating every fight in the volume as part of the same dispute.

Yusuke’s pleasure at being able to fight again resists the comforting idea that resurrection has simply reformed him. Kuwabara’s predicament supplies a more specific moral distinction. A rival uses his kitten Eikichi as leverage while demanding that he steal manga; Kuwabara brings a receipt instead. He is willing to fight but unwilling to pretend theft is part of his code. The rival then demands an apology for the failure to steal, turning apparent obedience into another reason for humiliation. Kuwabara’s restraint under that threat gives Yusuke something other than strength to witness. This analysis covers only printed pages 7–17 of VIZ’s licensed Volume 3 preview, within chapter 18. It stops before the confrontation’s resolution and does not turn the opening into a claim that Yusuke has become harmless.
