“I won't allow your opinions of how we should be fighting to get in our way one moment longer!”

Haruka Tenoh, Sailor Moon Source / locator: Sailor Moon S (1994 anime), episode 21 of the season ("The Death of Uranus and Neptune: The Talismans Appear"; the page's [3.21] section). Wikiquote English transcription, in a block the page labels "[Viz Media english dub]": Viz Media's uncut redub, which Anime News Network reported in 2014 would keep "the original Japanese names, story elements, and relationships" (https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-05-16/viz-licenses-original-sailor-moon-anime-franchise). It is not the Cloverway dub that recast Haruka and Michiru as cousins (see the site's fact-check /did-sailor-moon-dub-say-they-were-cousins). Spoken by Haruka to Usagi; the stage directions "[approaches Usagi]" before it and "[grabs for Usagi's brooch]" after it are omitted. Commentary also draws on the rest of the Viz block, the Cloverway-labeled block that follows it in [3.21], and the unlabeled [3.37] block that names her Amara. Rendering evidence: Wikiquote labels the block containing this line "[Viz Media english dub]"; checked 2026-10-14. https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Sailor_Moon Wikiquote · Transcription

She says it in an aquarium at the top of a building, moments after Usagi has been admiring the tanks and saying all their friends would love the place. Then Haruka takes the brooch by force and warns that interfering again means death. The line commits her to a method: the talismans are sealed in pure hearts, and she and Michiru will take hearts to find them whatever Usagi thinks. The episode's title promises the death of Uranus and Neptune, and the bill arrives inside the same half hour. In the Cloverway-labeled block the page files under this episode, the villain tells Uranus she has not yet taken "your cousin's" pure heart crystal, then announces that the heart she wants first is the one in Uranus herself. The method Haruka defended gets turned on her. The concession comes near the end of the season, in a block that names her Amara: Sailor Saturn was not the only one Sailor Moon saved, she admits, and she supposes she should say thank you. Read against that, the threat is the high-water mark of a certainty she later gives back.

“This isn't the time for tears! While we're just standing around, Galaxia's invasion continues! Getting emotional is not going to change the situation!”

Haruka Tenoh, Sailor Moon Source / locator: Sailor Moon Sailor Stars (1996 anime), episode 31 of the season ("Ruler of the Galaxy: The Menace of Galaxia"; the page's [5.31] section). Wikiquote English transcription; the block carries no dub label. It names Mamo and Rei, and Sailor Stars had no 1990s English dub (Anime News Network reported in 2014 that Viz's license would bring the first North American release of the season), so this is not the DiC/Cloverway version; the page does not say whether it follows Viz's dub or subtitles. Spoken as Super Sailor Uranus after Usagi cries that Mamo, Rei and the others are gone. Commentary also draws on the rest of the exchange (Sailor Star Fighter's challenge, Uranus's next line and the stage direction after it) and on [5.32]. Rendering evidence: the Wikiquote block carries no dub label, so no particular dub or subtitle release is claimed; checked 2026-10-14. https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Sailor_Moon Wikiquote · Transcription

Taken alone, this is the cold one scolding the crier, and Sailor Star Fighter hears it that way, asking whether she even cares that Usagi's friends just died. The transcript argues otherwise in the next breath. Uranus says the four Outer Guardians had planned to settle this matter themselves and botched it, and the stage direction has her picture the Inner Guardians' deaths and wince. The anger is aimed at herself; the tears are only the nearest target. That reading pays off one episode later. Dying beside Neptune, with Usagi sobbing over them, Haruka asks Fighter to protect Usagi from now on, and her last joke is that their princess is such a crybaby. The woman who would not allow crying here ends by teasing Usagi for it, fondly, and handing her to someone else to look after.
