Roy brings the warehouse story up against an inventory: twelve buildings and empty space where the thirteenth would have to be. Fuery supplies a new condition under which the missing building might appear. The werewolf comparison gives the explanation a familiar shape, but familiarity is doing work that observation has not done. Nothing in the exchange establishes a connection between the warehouse and the moon. The proposal is not impossible to test. Someone could return under the stated condition and look. Its weakness here is that Fuery offers the additional requirement as a response to the story's failure, without evidence that the requirement belonged to the phenomenon in the first place. An imaginative possibility keeps the account alive at very little cost to its defender. Roy's instruction to give up refuses to let that possibility count as a discovery. A reason to investigate would still need something more than a way to preserve the tale.
