20th Century Boys

Editions and box sets

Compare the story coverage as well as the binding. Each edition has a page listing every book in it, with its ISBN and release date.

Which edition to buy

Choose the 22 original paperback volumes or the 11 Perfect Edition books, then continue with 21st Century Boys. The latter has its own title and numbering: two original volumes or one Perfect Edition volume. VIZ describes the Perfect Edition as a 2-in-1 collection with new cover art, additional editor notes and color pages absent from the first edition. Its 21st Century Boys volume also has a new ending, so the editions are not identical presentations of the conclusion. These catalogs record published editions, not retailer stock.

Compare the first numbered book in each edition below. A later box set is not a starting point for the story. List prices are publisher prices in US dollars, not current shop offers.

What each edition costs

Collected list prices are divided by the standard volumes each edition holds. The singles row shows the most common single-book list price; its total sums each book’s price. Retailer offers can differ.
