Dragon Ball Volume 6 resumes the Muscle Tower assault through a comic fight between Goku and Sergeant Major Purple. This is the original Dragon Ball standard paperback, continuing the rescue established in the previous book. The opening keeps jokes inside an active battle; it does not turn the whole book into a pause between adventures. Its contents distinguish numbered Tales from printed folios. The reading below covers only pages 7–17 of VIZ's licensed preview and leaves both the fight's outcome and the tower's later events unreviewed.

Purple announces that the games are over, but the battle repeatedly makes his attempts at seriousness ridiculous. Goku recognizes his sword's threat without respecting the intimidation surrounding it. The staff defeats the supposedly exceptional blade, prompting Purple to propose a barehanded contest and immediately throw weapons. Goku calls that deception out. Purple then claims that survival allows any method, and Goku briefly accepts the premise. The joke nevertheless has a consequence: a returning projectile hurts him after the initial dodge. Goku's playful confidence is not the same as immunity to tricks. The alternation between pain, laughter and renewed threats keeps Purple's authority unstable while preserving the physical danger of the encounter. The excerpt ends with Goku hurt and Purple surprised by his own successful attack.
