Nothing begins or ends in this book: it is the middle of one continuous operation that runs from the crew's arrival to their escape. Chapters 849 to 858 pick up with Chopper and Carrot trapped in the mirror world, Luffy and Nami still imprisoned, and Sanji cooking a meal for Pudding. Serialized weekly, this was a run of chapters in which the plan was assembled and nothing was settled; collected, it reads as one piece of preparation. 'Liar' is chapter 856. Season 19 covers chapters 825 to 910 and takes in all of it. Viz lists one hundred and ninety-two pages at $11.99, and the Omnibus Edition is much the cheaper route through this stretch at $16.99 for three volumes, though Viz names the contents of only its first book, so which three any later one holds is our arithmetic.

The title belongs to Pudding. Sanji overhears her setting out the plan the wedding actually exists for, which is to kill every Vinsmoke at the ceremony and take Germa's technology, and the meal he has spent the chapter cooking for her goes to the starving Luffy instead. That redirection is the arc turning over. Reiju then supplies the other half of Sanji's origin: Sora took poison while pregnant in an attempt to thwart Judge's modifications, stayed weak, died, and counted it a success that one of her sons came out human. It reframes the failson insult of the previous volume as the only thing in that family that worked. By the end Brook is out, Big Mom's own commanders are hiding their failures from her, and Luffy has agreed an alliance with Capone Bege, who turned up on Zou one arc ago carrying the invitation that started all of this. What the two of them intend to do with it is the next book's business.
