Season 20: Wano Country ep. 892–1088

Wano proper begins here, one chapter after the arc opened at the end of the previous book, and so does Box Set 5, which cannot be bought yet. Chapters 911 to 921 open with Luffy separated from the crew and rescuing a girl named Otama in a country where the water is not safe to drink. The geography of the arc is laid out through her: Amigasa Village, Okobore Town, Bakura Town, and a shogun named Orochi holding the country for Kaido. Otama is the arrival that reaches furthest ahead. Season 20 runs to chapter 1060, so the anime has adapted all of this. Viz states Box Set 5 as volumes 91 to 111 at $250.00, but it is a preorder dated 8 December 2026, so a reader beginning Wano today buys singles at $11.99 or waits for the set. Viz lists two hundred pages.

Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.

The reveal is held back to the closing chapters and delivered without ceremony: the Wano natives were sent twenty years forward in time after Lord Oden died, which is why the country's resistance and its oppressor are out of step, and why the crew's allies from Dressrosa and Zou are contemporaries of a man executed a generation ago. Everything before it is groundwork done as a series of small favors. Luffy steals a food barge and hands it to Okobore Town, Zoro pulls Otsuru out of a fight with bandits, and Otsuru and Okiku feed Otama oshiruko for her birthday, in a country where feeding a child is a political act. Otama's own ability, charming beasts with millet dumplings pinched from her cheek, is introduced as a village curiosity in an arc whose antagonists are called the Animal Kingdom Pirates. Onigashima is named before the book ends.
