Spy x Family Watch Order: Seasons and Where Code: White Fits

Season 1, season 2, the film Code: White, then season 3: 50 episodes with dates, why the film goes after season 2, and where season 4 stands.

Last updated October 7, 2026

Watch Spy x Family in broadcast order: season 1 (both parts), season 2, then season 3, and fit the film Spy x Family Code: White in after season 2. The film is an original story, so it does not replace any episodes, and as of October 7, 2026 no fourth season has been officially announced.

Everything, in order, with the numbers

EntryEpisodesAired in Japan
Season 1, part 112 (episodes 1 to 12)April 9 to June 25, 2022
Season 1, part 213 (episodes 13 to 25)October 1 to December 24, 2022
Season 212 (episodes 26 to 37)October 7 to December 23, 2023
Spy x Family Code: White (film)110 minutesIn cinemas December 22, 2023
Season 313 (episodes 38 to 50)October 4 to late December 2025

The dates and counts come from Anime News Network's encyclopedia entries for season 1, season 2, season 3 and the film. ANN files the second half of season 1 as a separate entry, so its season 2 and season 3 pages are titled "TV 3" and "TV 4". ANN numbers the episodes continuously across seasons, which is why season 2 opens at episode 26 and season 3 at episode 38. ANN's December 2025 news report confirms that the third season "debuted on October 4 and had 13 episodes." If a service restarts the count each season, season 3 episode 13 and episode 50 are the same episode.

Wit Studio and CloverWorks animated all three seasons and the film. Kazuhiro Furuhashi directed seasons 1 and 2; ANN reported in March 2023 that he was "returning to direct the second season at WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks," with Ichirō Ōkouchi as "the new series script supervisor, replacing Furuhashi." For season 3, ANN reported in July 2025 that Yukiko Imai, an episode director on the earlier seasons, "is directing the third season at Wit Studio and CloverWorks."

Season 1 is one season in two parts

The first season aired in two blocks with a summer break between them: twelve episodes in spring 2022, then thirteen more from October. Both halves are season 1. If you finish episode 12 and the next thing listed is episode 13, you are still in the same season, not skipping ahead.

Where Code: White fits

When the film was announced in December 2022, ANN reported that it "will be an all-new work with an original story," with manga creator Tatsuya Endō credited for the original work and character designs and also supervising. It is not adapted from a manga chapter, so it does not sit inside a season, and no episode depends on it.

ANN's encyclopedia summary describes the premise: "After receiving an order to be replaced in Operation Strix, Loid decides to help Anya win a cooking competition at Eden Academy." That setup assumes you already know Loid's mission, Operation Strix, which the very first episode is named for, and the family and school the series builds around it. On that reading the film works anywhere after season 1.

Our recommendation, not an official order, is after season 2, because that is roughly when it was released. It opened in Japan on December 22, 2023, the day before season 2's final episode aired, and Crunchyroll opened it in North America on April 19, 2024, according to ANN's season 3 announcement. Season 3 premiered in October 2025, so watching the film between seasons 2 and 3 is close to the order Japanese audiences got; strictly, it reached cinemas one day ahead of the season 2 finale. Since its story stands apart, moving it a little earlier or later costs little.

Is there a season 4, or anything in 2026?

Not on screen, as far as we can find. Season 3 ended in December 2025, and a comicbook.com report from May 21, 2026 noted that it "came to an end without announcing a follow-up season for the anime." The same report says an event titled "SPY x FAMILY ANIME EXTRA MISSION II" is set for November 8, 2026, and suggests new-season news could come there. That is speculation in the report, not an announcement. We found no fourth-season announcement in Anime News Network's news for the franchise as of October 7, 2026; if one is made, this page will need updating.

The one new Spy x Family production of 2026 that we found is on stage, not on screen. ANN reported a sequel stage musical, SPY×FAMILY 2, adapting the manga's Doggy Bomb and Luxury Cruise Ship arcs and running from September to December 2026 in Japan. It is not part of the anime and has no place in a watch order.

The short version

Season 1 (episodes 1 to 25), season 2 (26 to 37), Code: White, season 3 (38 to 50). That is 50 episodes and one film to date. For franchises where the film question is harder, see the Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer watch orders.
