“The fact that I'm standing here now means I'm also prepared to fight on behalf of my Guild. I don't need your pity. Until I've fallen and become unable to move any longer, please come at me with all your strength!”
Wendy Marvell Quotes
2 quotes from Fairy Tail, each with commentary on what it means and why it stuck.
“My job is to support everyone but... when I have to fight... I become the Sky Dragon!”
Twenty-two chapters earlier, in the match against Chelia, Wendy said there was nothing about combat she enjoyed and that she would set that feeling aside for the guild. That was the more interesting position: a healer who fights and says plainly that she does not like it. This line against Cosmos converts the same reluctance into a switch. Support is the job, fighting is a mode, and the mode has a name to shout on entry. It is how the series writes most of its power-ups, and it flattens the one thing that made Wendy's fights different from Natsu's, which was that she did not want them. The Abyss Palace chapters hand several Fairy Tail members a Garou Knight each and resolve the fights side by side, and this is Wendy's turn, delivered on schedule.

Wendy is twelve, and the Grand Magic Games are a public contest of injuries staged in a packed arena. The strongest objection to this line is that no guild should need a child to say it. The creed its older members shout, that Fairy Tail never gives up, is recited back here by the member it most endangers, refusing pity from her opponent. The answer to that objection is where Wendy came from. Her first guild, Cait Shelter, turned out at the end of the Oración Seis arc to be an illusion its master had kept up to look after her, and she joined Fairy Tail with nothing else. She is not repeating the older members' line. She is defending the only guild she has that is real, which gives her more reason to say it than anyone in the hall. The match ends in a draw, which is fair to both readings. Nobody loses, and the worst case the line invites, fighting until she cannot move, is not what ends it.
