Rurouni Kenshin

Editions and box sets

Compare the story coverage as well as the binding. Each edition has a page listing every book in it, with its ISBN and release date.

Which edition to buy

Start with single Volume 1 or the first collected book in your chosen edition. This inventory covers twenty-eight singles, nine VIZBIG books and nine smaller collections in the original main story. Restoration and The Hokkaido Arc are outside its scope.

Both collected routes end with singles 25–28 in book 9; the smaller final book is 4-in-1. Our guide How to Switch Manga Editions gives the Kenshin table, including overlap after individual singles. At finished collected-book boundaries, either line continues with the next collected number.

Singles have mixed list prices; totals sum individual books. VIZBIG has a larger listed trim, which does not establish better paper, durability or identical extras. Prices are dated US publisher list, not shop offers or stock promises. No chapter ranges or anime continuation points are inferred.

What each edition costs

Collected list prices are divided by the standard volumes each edition holds. The singles row shows the most common single-book list price; its total sums each book’s price. Retailer offers can differ.
