Iggy offers a falcon a treaty, and its terms are the most honest statement anyone in Stardust Crusaders makes about the mission: he will stay away from the boss's mansion. Until now that has been his whole policy. He bolted from the car when N'Doul attacked, had to be coerced by Jotaro into flying at all, and at the start of this episode he plays dumb dog so he will not get involved. Pet Shop does not negotiate. What makes the line work is how completely the rest of the two-parter reverses it. Iggy saves the boy whose dogs the falcon killed, chews off his own front paw to get out of the ice, and ends by leading the group to the very mansion he offered to avoid. A promise to stay out, made by a coward to a killer, becomes the directions in. The Bruce Lee crack deserves keeping as well. Even mid-panic his inner voice belongs to a smart aleck, which is why the arc reads as a character changing his mind rather than a dog being trained.
